Manage body composition and improves muscle-to-fat ratio

jump1Oh Heck! This is just frustrating me now. I Googled this very statement as I wanted to research what it meant and basically there are hundred and more sites that state the glorious statement and that is all that is said on the matter and then they are all onto the next reason why I am great!

Rebound for health and look after your joints.

bounce3

My owner has dodgy knees and she is overweight (I’m helping with that though). Quite frankly suggesting that she takes part in a jog or a short run could be quite catastrophic, cause pain and even injury. Additionally even if you are in shape but persistently take exercise on hard ground then you are running the risk of the repeated impact causing shock damage to knees and other leg joints.

Rebounding protects the joints from the chronic fatigue and impact delivered by exercising on hard surfaces.

So that is what this phrase means – another common one that gets bandied around in regard to the benefits of using a rebounder.

So all this is saying is if you use a rebounder to do your exercise you will not be damaging your joints like you would if you went for a jog in the street. So the message is use a rebounder and keep your joints safe.

2nd Day–15 minute exercise.

blurtsmumchallengeGood Morning @Blurtsmum I have your daily challenge here for you.

15 minutes on the spinny exercise waist twist and turn disc thing that you have slid under the couch. Set a good steady pace and keep it up.

1st day 15 minute challenge–rebounding

A message went to @blurtsmum on twitter.

blurtsmumchallenge

@blurtsmum OK I want 15mins of light heel bounce both legs - not big bounce small! Alternate arms and do it to free running on Wii to record.

Can you leave comment on here when you are done love!

Tomorrow I want you to wear your pedometer again too! First thing in the morning to last thing at night. Don’t worry about the clicking it makes - everyone will assume its your chubby little knees!

Explanation of activity. Gentle start it should warm her up and not put her off too much. The reason to include the Wii is because I know she has it there right near me and if it gets recorded on Wii fit by their gadgets and stuff then she won’t get all anal about having to record it herself. Our girl is a geek and can happily spend 2 hours setting up a database to record actions and then mysteriously have no time for the actions themselves.

Rebounding provides an increased G-force moment. Whoo Hoo!

This is one of the phrases that is usually said about me online – well actually the phrase goes like this.

Rebounding provides an increased G-force (gravitational load), which strengthens the musculoskeletal systems.

bounce2But honestly what does that really mean? I’m a rebounder and a particularly simple bit of exercise kit so I have no idea why these phrases have to sound so clever. Lets get to the bottom of this one.

I think the bounce up and down causes an increase in G-Force (for little moments your body has to sustain a larger gravity pull) but because you have somewhere squishy to land and propel then you don’t bash your joints about. The G-Force rush strengthens you up and the little rush makes it feel like a mini fairground ride and makes you smile! Because I’m nice to you get to do this without hurting yourself! Good Eh!?

A Challenge Has been Set

blurtsmumchallengeMy owner @Blurtsmum has been carrying significant extra weight for some time and although she knows she needs to do something about it, time constraints, raising child, being nice to boyfriend, working etc. etc. all seem to actually just apparently prevent periods of regular exercise.

Rebounding Benefits

The study of the human body is fairly interesting. The moment it becomes no less than amazing is when we understand what happens as the body is placed under the demands of movement and resistance we call exercise. Rebounding is an effective exercise that reduces your body fat; firms your arms, legs, thighs, abdomen, and hips; increases your agility; strengthens your muscles overall; provides an aerobic effect for your cardiopulmonary systems; rejuvenates your body when it's tired, and generally puts you in a state of mental and physical wellness. In fact, there are at least 41 fascinating ways the body responds to regular rebounding, detailed below:

Rebounding Benefits

Read more in the link above.

In fact the 41 or so benefits listed above are a great start to me actually getting on with blogging about how great I am so I will spend some time this week going through them and see what they actually mean or at least what it means in our household where I am the rebounder.

Rebounder benefits: I’m simply mint!

I have been googling myself today and now I feel on top of the world. If used I am surely one of the best inventions for so many reasons. Over the next million posts or so I can perhaps go through some of them.
Gosh I am so happy.
Back soon.

It used to be a struggle for her to get up the stairs

As I say I live here with a woman who needs to get into shape – and in the last few days we have already seen progress. The knees are stronger and they don’t creek or give way when going up the stairs.
Of course by that I mean her knees, my joints are fine. Six well balanced sturdy legs and I can handle up to 18 stone  - which I guess is just as well.
I’ll explain later why bouncing with me is great for her knees – but hint -zero impact.  It’s not the same or as damaging as when she runs to the pub to catch last orders – which I figure must be the last time she ran!
rebounder is good if you have bad knees

The Bouncing Store

I am a rebounder and live in a home near York.

Hello and welcome, I am a rebounder (small trampoline if you will) and I live in York. I was bought last year and like much gym equipment was bought with good intentions and then left to be a bit lonely.

I think things may start perking up for me and for that reason I have started my own blog, twitter and facebook page (still have that to do) so I can record the fun I hope I will have.
